ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

<p><span style="font-size: small;">The Department of Geography was established in 2013, a latest addition to Dukhulal Nibaran Chandra College. &nbsp;It focuses primarily on high quality Graduate Courses (B.A./B.Sc., Intake: Honours-25; Programme-30) in Geography which attracts the young students from the region covering the districts of Murshidabad and neighboring area.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">The well-versed faculties in the department properly combines the &lsquo;quality&rsquo; and &lsquo;relevance&rsquo; in their teaching. The departmental library contains one of the richest collections of Books of Geography. More importantly, it houses spacious and well-equipped Cartography and Survey lab required for classes. The Field Works at various geographically important places are carried out on yearly basis imparting practical knowledge. The department is also known for organizing different academic programs and extracurricular activities (e.g. webinar, quiz competition, poster presentation, wall magazine, debates etc.) to develop skills and attitude among the students.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: small;">The vision of the Department is to achieving high standards of academic performance to provide quality education to students and exploring geographical thoughts on physical, human and social realities.</span></p>
